AC Maintenance & Tune-Ups in Waldorf & White Plains, MD

AC Maintenance Plans & Benefits

The Best Investment To Protect Your Investment

A membership, also known as a maintenance plan, is one of the best things you can have to protect the longevity of your comfort system.

Routine tune-ups allow your AC to work at peak efficiency while it runs, year after year.

At Southern Pride Service, we recommend maintenance twice a year for the best results. Statistically, an AC that’s maintained regularly experiences fewer breakdowns and service calls, which is our goal to keep you at the highest level of comfort and convenience.

A maintenance agreement can eliminate the need for costly repairs by preventing them and catching them before they cause breakdowns. It provides peace of mind knowing your AC is well maintained and saving you money on your utility bills all year.

In some cases, the energy savings could pay for the actual cost of the maintenance, not to mention protect the environment by reducing your energy use. These are just a few of the advantages homeowners can enjoy with regular maintenance from Southern Pride Service.

Routine air conditioning maintenance is critical to keeping your home comfortable year-round.

It will extend the service life of your system and alert you to any minor problems before they get larger and more expensive. Maintenance also ensures that your home’s cooling systems are operating at peak efficiency, saving you money on monthly energy bills.

The experienced team at Southern Pride Service has the industry knowledge to keep your home’s comfort systems in peak condition.

Our friendly experts will thoroughly inspect your systems and communicate their findings clearly. We’re honest and upfront with pricing and will ensure you know exactly what will be on your final bill. Check out our special offers and savings.

A Typical Maintenance Check-Up Should Include:

Ensure the thermostat is programmed appropriately

This ensures your heating and cooling system is programmed to not run when you’re not home, saving you money and prolonging the life of your system.

Ensure all electrical connections are tightened

The technician will also measure voltage and current in the motor of the unit. Faulty electrical connections can cause unsafe operation of your system and reduce the life of major components.

Lubricate all moving parts

Parts that lack lubrication cause friction in motors and increase the amount of electricity you use, causing your energy usage to increase and costing you more money.

Check the condensate drain

Checking the condensate drain in your central AC, furnace, and/or heat pump (when in cooling mode). A plugged drain can cause water damage in the house and affect indoor humidity levels.

Check controls of the system

Ensures proper and safe operation. Check the starting cycle of the equipment to assure the system starts, operates, and shuts off properly.

(Cooling specific) Inspect evaporator and condenser air conditioning coils

Dirty coils reduce the system’s ability to cool your home and make it run longer, increasing energy costs and reducing the life of the equipment.

(Cooling specific) Check your central air conditioner's refrigerant level

Too much or too little refrigerant will make your system less efficient, increasing energy costs and reducing the life of the equipment.

(Cooling specific) Inspect and adjust blower components

This provides proper system airflow for better comfort. Airflow problems can reduce your system’s efficiency by up to 15%.

(Heating specific) Check all gas (or oil) connections, gas pressure, burner combustion, and heat exchanger

Improperly operating gas (or oil) connections is a fire hazard and can contribute to health problems. A dirty burner or cracked heat exchanger causes improper burner operation. Either can cause the equipment to operate less safely and efficiently.

Inspect, clean, or change air filters

This is something you can do once a month in your central AC, furnace, and/or heat pump. Your contractor can show you how to do this. A dirty filter can increase energy costs and damage your equipment, leading to early failure.
