Membership Benefits

The Best Investment to Protect Your Investment

Having a Membership is one of the best things that you can have to protect the longevity of your comfort system. Membership may also be referred to as maintenance plan. It allows your system to work at peak efficiency by having it tuned up, while it runs year in and year out. At Southern Pride Service, we recommend twice a year maintenances for best results. A system that is maintained regularly, statistically, experiences fewer breakdowns and service calls which is our goal to keep you at the highest level of comfort and convenience.

A maintenance agreement can eliminate you from paying for costly repairs by preventing them from occurring and catching them before they cause breakdowns. It provides peace of mind knowing that your system is being well maintained and saving you money on your utility bills throughout the year, whether it be heating or cooling season. In some cases the energy savings could pay for the actual cost of the maintenance, not to mention protecting the environment by reducing your energy consumption. This just becoming even more advantageous for all homeowners.

Let us serve you by taking over your equipment’s required maintenance. We service nearly every type and brand of heating and air conditioning equipment ever made. Call 301-932-4925 for details.

A Typical Maintenance Check-up Should Include The Following:

Ensure the thermostat is programmed appropriately

This ensures that your heating and cooling system is programmed to not be running during the times you are not home, saving you money, and prolonging the life of your system.

Ensure all electrical connections are tightened

The technician will also measure voltage and current in the motor of the unit. Faulty electrical connections can cause unsafe operation of your system and reduce the life of major components.

Lubricate all moving parts

Parts that lack lubrication cause friction in motors and increases the amount of electricity you use causing your energy usage to increase, costing you more money.

Condensate Drain

Ensuring the condensate drain in your central air conditioner, furnace and/or heat pump (when in cooling mode). A plugged drain can cause water damage in the house and affect indoor humidity levels.

Check controls of the system

Ensures proper and safe operation. Check the starting cycle of the equipment to assure the system starts, operates, and shuts off properly.

(Cooling Specific) Clean evaporator and condenser air conditioning coils.

Dirty coils reduce the system’s ability to cool your home and cause the system to run longer, increasing energy costs and reducing the life of the equipment.

(Cooling Specific) Check your central air conditioner's refrigerant level

Too much or too little refrigerant will make your system less efficient increasing energy costs and reducing the life of the equipment.

(Cooling Specific) Clean and adjust blower components

This provides proper system airflow for greater comfort levels. Airflow problems can reduce your system’s efficiency by up to 15 percent.

(Heating Specific) Check all gas (or oil) connections, gas pressure, burner combustion and heat exchanger.

Improperly operating gas (or oil) connections are a fire hazard and can contribute to health problems. A dirty burner or cracked heat exchanger causes improper burner operation. Either can cause the equipment to operate less safely and efficiently.

Inspect, clean, or change air filters

This is something you can do once a month in your central air conditioner, furnace, and/or heat pump. Your contractor can show you how to do this. A dirty filter can increase energy costs and damage your equipment, leading to early failure.
